Angel – six years of joy and love

Dear Cat Protection team,

We would like to share the story of our beloved Angel, who we adopted from you in October 2019 and said a sad goodbye to yesterday.

We knew from the moment we saw a photo of Angel on the Cat Protection website that we would be her forever family. Turns out that shy 12-year-old we met at the adoption centre was quite a headstrong little thing, always ready with a hiss or a swipe if her boundaries were overstepped. But she was the most affectionate old girl and loved nothing more than curling up on Rakhi’s lap on the couch, then climbing on Kris’s chest for face rubs at bedtime before nestling into his shoulder and finally settling down for the night beside Rakhi’s legs – and started many days with a cool, gentle paw to the cheek at 4am if we didn’t hear her “wake up and feed me” purrs as she waited patiently on our pillows.

We farewelled Angel on 19 July, 2025 after a short illness. We were able to bring her home for her last 24 hours to rest up in her favourite places and were with her right to the end. Angel brought almost six years of joy and love to our home. Our hearts are broken but full. We will miss her terribly.

Thank you so much for introducing Angel to us. She was the best cat and we all had the most wonderful time together.
