Planning for animals in emergencies

The NSW State Emergency Service has developed a vital new resource – Get Ready Animals – to help people plan for the safe care of animals – including pets – during emergencies.
The website includes a template emergency plan, important links for emergency information and assistance. Cat Protection was pleased to participate in a workshop to help inform the development of these important resources. This summer has been a tragic reminder that disasters may give little warning but have a very big impact. Please plan and be prepared for yourself, your family and your pets. We acknowledge the incredibly heroic efforts of all those on the frontline of fire-fighting this season and offer our sincere gratitude.
