Roxy came to Cat Protection as a malnourished 4 week old kitten who was found abandoned and on her own. Buddy was also found abandoned and on his own when he came to Cat Protection as a very scared and timid kitten.
Roxy and Buddy are not related but were rehomed as a pair because they had become such good friends since being in foster care together.
Roxy was born with a condition known as ‘cerebellar degeneration’ which affects the back area of the brain. Kittens with this condition have difficulty controlling ‘fine movement’ and may sway when standing or sometimes lose their balance when walking. Unfortunately there is no treatment for this condition, but Roxy is in no pain whatsoever.
Roxy and Buddy are wonderful cats – very human orientated and true companions. Roxy is being groomed daily at the moment, since its moulting season 🙂 Our courtyard is the space that their life revolves around (when they are not all over us!). They love it – especially Roxy who sits outside in the evening, looking up at the stars (we refer to this as her space dolphin time). We are not sure what she sees up there, but it’s pretty enthralling!
Otherwise they supervise our every move around the house, Buddy insists on playtime by bringing the toys into the study when we are working or otherwise busy on the computers. He has learned to ask politely but will never lose his cheeky disposition.
They are much loved, and very spoiled!
