They were both favourites of the staff and I instantly fell in love with them both.
Oscar, I was told, didn’t like to be picked up and is the dominate of the two. Poncho was suffering from stress and was a bit bitey.
Well – a year on, my partner Andrew and his 7 year old son, Oliver, and I could not imagine life without our boys.
No sooner than anyone sits and creates a lap – Oscar is on it, neck crooked waiting for a scratch – I have never heard a cat purr louder than a lapped Oscy. At night Oscar likes to find little hiding places to sleep.
Poncho’s only motivation though is Poncho. When Poncho wants to play it’s too bad if Oscar wants to sleep. If Oscar wants his dinner – it’s too bad because Poncho has already scoffed his and is looks for “second dinner”. Poncho melts the hearts of any anyone who meets him and is forever happy. He has a very chilled and relaxed disposition – except when he is wrestling with Oscar (or Andrew), purring the whole time. Poncho loves to cuddle and to be where the people are at – he sleeps on the end of our bed every night and in the mornings wanders up to have a cuddle and a purr.
The boys love each other too. They can often be found curled around each other on the lounge giving each other a bath.
We are honestly blessed to have them in our lives and thank the Cat Protection Society so much for taking such good care of them until we found them.
