Great Writers and the Cats who Owned Them – An evening with Susannah Fullerton
Did you know Dr Samuel Johnson, the writer behind the first Dictionary of the English Language made sure his beloved cat Hodge dined well on oysters?
Interestingly enough Edward Lear, who penned the classic poem The Owl and The Pussy-Cat, was so devoted to his feline friend Foss that when he had a second house built it matched the exact same layout as his old house, so that Foss could easily find his way to his special snoozing spots.
You might be surprised to learn L.M. Montgomery wrote Anne of Green Gables with her adored kitty Daffy on her lap.
Hear these stories and many more fun tales about celebrated writers and their cherished cats.

An event not to be missed, Susannah will entertain and delight, bringing life to the famous authors and felines from her book, Great Writers and the Cats who Owned Them.
The talk will be illustrated with portraits and photos of the authors with their cats and include anecdotes about the writers and the meow-vellous cats who were lucky enough to ‘own’ them.
After her talk, Susannah will be available to sign copies of her book, which will be on sale at the event, along with gorgeous cat tea towels, cards and bookmarks.
