Proposed new constitution
Members will have received a Notice of Special General Meeting with their copy of Spring Cat Affairs.
This meeting is to consider a special resolution to replace the existing Rules of the Association with a new Constitution. The purpose is to bring Cat Protection’s governing document in line with the new Associations Incorporation Act and also to expand the scope of our charitable feline welfare activities. These are proposed to include a provision to be able to help prevent feline homelessness by providing temporary care and accommodation for cats and kittens owned by people who find themselves in crisis situations.
Our principal activities are and will continue to be the provision of short-term direct care to cats and kittens who are without owners or who have been lost or mistreated, and rehabilitating orphaned, sick or injured cats and kittens who are without owners, or who have been lost or mistreated, and finding homes for those cats and kittens.
The Board supports the Special Resolution.
The proposed new Constitution can be reviewed here.
