A message from Miss Purrsi Licious and Ms Cheeki Pouches
Hello to all of our friends at the Adoption Centre!
Our human has been a bit too busy with the things he does outside of our apartment and so he suggested I respond to your letter.
Cheeki and I have settled into our new home very well and I believe everything has just worked out for the best since the two of us adopted our human. Our human is taking very good care of us and he is a pleasure to supervise – being supervisor is a role I have found to be necessary with Cheeki being such a handful and with so much to be done to take care of my sister and I.
Since we saw you last Cheeki and I have visited our vet to make introductions and for me to have my booster shot. While we were there the nice lady vet informed Cheeki that the reason she had been feeling poorly and sneezing was because she had a mild case of Cat Flu. Our human and I have been taking care of Cheeki and she is much improved from her flu.
In our new apartment we have been supplied with a black sleeping den with faux leopard print, a play tunnel and a fully carpeted four-story cat tree that reaches all the way up to the top of the kitchen cupboard where we have our private retreat. Whenever Cheeki is in our sleeping den during nap time she has a habit of regressing to litter kitten behaviour and suckles a corner of the cushion and kneading with her paws. While this behaviour is endearing I’m hoping she will grow out of it eventually.
We have established our routine and it consists of waking up early and having an under the covers cuddle with our human then practicing our new hobby – Ultimate Kitten-Fight Championships – with a break for breakfast and then hunting the lurking Bed Monster (I’m pretty close to catching that one I assure you) followed by morning window gazing and more UKFC practice.
At midday if our human is around then Cheeki likes to get in a special lap cuddle before nap time, then its naps and sleeping until mid afternoon.
From mid afternoon until dusk we do more UKFC practice and also some Ornithology if the opportunity presents itself. I must say Ornithology is quite fascinating and I do encourage you to try it . At dusk we have our dinner and from time to time our human prepares small morsels of different foods for us to try alongside our regular biscuits. He’s quite the gourmet and to date our favourite has been a beaten egg to share.
After dinner we have a little more UKFC and some dedicated sofa time with cuddles, naps and grooming. Cheeki and I take turns grooming each other however I do need to spend extra time getting her face right and of course my tail needs special attention.
In the evening our human gets into the Bed. Now I must say the Bed is simply wonderful! The Bed is very soft on top and marvellously comfortable and warm to sleep on and has a whole world of space underneath to hide my treasures and loot. It’s possible to lie on top with oodles of space to stretch out and to get “into” it under the covers as well. Being under the covers has fast become my favourite place to have a cuddle. If you have not tried a Bed then mark my words, once experienced you will never want to be without one!
I think that can be enough from us for now. I’m off to grab the last of the sunshine in the kitchen – apparently this is good for my health so I guess that’s a win-win since I do enjoy it.
With affection
