Cuddle for a Cause – UberKITTENS and Cat Protection

Yesterday we were delighted to partner with our freinds at Uber to deliver kitten cuddles across Sydney.

Our teams of skilled, qualified staff and volunteers delivered kittens to buisness and homes.  The wellbeing of the kittens was our top priority and we would withdraw from the event at any point if a kitten became stressed or unhappy. We had infection control and safety protocols in place at every visit, people were instructed in handling and were strictly supervised by our teams at all times, and the Uber rep made sure the rooms were secure and permissions were in place. Water, food and litter was provided at each stop and the kittens had their own blankets, Feliway and toys to make them happy. We only selected confident kittens to participate. We planned this day with military precision to ensure the kitties had a safe and fun day.

And they did! The kittens absolutely loved it, and we loved the opportunity to tell people about our work, about the importance of feline welfare and in particular early age desexing and adopting from shelters – and demonstrating how fantastic felines are for people.

This wasn’t a pet shop on wheels – it was a carefully considered program to promote feline welfare and it was a resounding success.
