Letter from Babah
Hi! I’m Babah, formerly known as Yolande when I first came to Cat Protection Society in July 2010. I was one year old and had five kids, when I arrived with my whole family. I felt nervous and insecure, as I’m an INFJ type in Jungian Typology. Yes, I’m quiet and retiring, but I’m also very gentle.
I love boxing; my mum and dad always talk about me boxing things (I’m told I have a very fast left jab) but I never box anything bigger than a cockroach – except, of course, my Mum and Dad when I’m playing. But always with my claws retracted.
Well, when I first saw my Mum I walked from the back of my cage, where I was hiding, and said Hello (it was actually Miaow), and Mummy told my Dad; “This one’s special”.
When they decided to take me home I was so happy I purred loudly. I never wee or poo anywhere except where I should – and I never have. Yep, a clean slate!! And did I tell you how much my Mum and Dad love me? I feel like a celebrity all day every day!! And I’m the happiest I’ve been, the whole eight years since they adopted me. I sleep in their bed on their pillows. I get tummy rubs from Dad every night and I purr so much they say I need a CPAP mask. I think that’s a compliment. They even say I’m one of those “other cats”. Well, you see, they got a cat door installed and it only took me three months to work out how to use it. They said some cats are smarter than others, and that I’m one of the “other cats”. And they say I’m a special breed, called a “Domestic Short Hair”. And that I’m a Champion Sleeper.
Isn’t it all just so neat?
Ah….. time for a nap. See ya!!
Babah xoxo.
