Mork calling Orson, come in Orson
I adopted my beautiful boy Rex from the Cat Protection seven years ago and lost him on May 8 2011. I didn’t feel like getting another cat but started to look at the Cat Protection site late last year just to see who was looking for a home. In January I thought the time was right to have another cat in my life.
I found it very difficult to choose ( I would have taken them all) however with the guidance of my mum and step father we chose Orson, who I thought was a lovely boy (18 years).
When we visited Orson, he had a ‘friend’ in his cage, a timid boy called Nik ( 18 months). We decided to adopt them both as with Orson’s age we did not know how long he would be in our lives.
Orson, the old boy, settled in straight away apart from a few toilet issues, which have now been sorted. Mork (nee Nik) took a while to come out of his shell and is still cautious, apart from at feeding time when he will wrap himself around your legs.
Orson is the boss and lets Mork know with the occasional clip around the ear. The only time Mork is in command is when food is involved. He will head butt Orson because he gets so excited.
If you’re thinking of adopting, please consider an older cat. As I type this Mork is outside enjoying the last bit of sunlight while Orson is sitting beside me on the desk purring away.
