We are very excited to announce that our adoption centre will reopen for adoptions on Saturday 18 May.

To say thanks to all our wonderful customers for your patience while we were remodelling, we are having a huge sale with 10% off everything in our retail store.

Cat Protection was honoured to receive an award in the inaugural Companion Animal Rescue Awards earlier in the year. Our Good Neighbour Project won the Community Education and Outreach Program category, we are very grateful to be given the opportunity to spread the message of responsible cat ownership to a wider audience and be recognised amongst so many wonderful rescue groups. Jiminy was thrilled with the news and even more excited to receive some of the amazing prizes.

AGM 3 November 2018

The following nominations have been received for the election of Appointed Directors, to be held at the AGM on 3 November 2018. Each nominee is eligible for election under the Constitution. There are two vacancies and two nominations:

2. Guy Farrands

This year we’re celebrating 60 years of caring for cats and to mark this momentous occasion, we ran a competition asking people to send in photos of their cat with something diamond related. We were dazzled by all the wonderful entries and asked our faithful Facebook friends to vote for their favourites.

We are super excited to reveal the winners and launch the Fabulous Felines collection, a very special and very sparkly set of limited-edition brooches celebrating our Diamond Anniversary!

As members have been advised by post, Cat Protection is contemplating moving its incorporation from the auspices of the NSW Associations Incorporation Act and NSW Fair Trading to the federal Corporations Act and ASIC. The reason for this is that the NSW system is intended to cover smaller organisations and our operations and assets are considered too large. However, any decision to make such a change can only be made by members.

At Cat Protection we are very pleased by the news from our latest Ipsos survey showing positive attitudes to responsible pet ownership.

The great news is that vaccination rates have increased by 9% in the past year.
